Music and art as the axis of expansion.

VIOLETA TORRES ANDRÉS
VIOLETT (Violeta Torres Andrés) is a DJ, producer and the creator of SCI FI, a performance series devoted to appreciating the artist's act as a work of art. At 17 she discovered the Buenos Aires underground scene: influenced by Kraftwerk, she began collecting vinyl and learning the art of DJing, always from an experimental and deeply personal approach.
In 2005 she made her debut as a producer on Unfoundsound (Philadelphia), and went on to TELEGRAPH (France), a label that has hosted Cabanne, Ricardo Villalobos and Robert Hood. German magazine De:Bug defined her sound as «timeless and avant-garde». She has also released on Einmaleins, Lo Mid High and Ilian Tape, and on compilations for Harry Klein Networks and Lessizmore.
Her first European tour came when she was signed by the Harry Klein Club (Munich) agency, with which she worked for eight years touring Europe. That road gave birth to her experimental live act: sounds captured from the magnetic fields of the northern lights, distant radio transmissions and her own textural compositions, fused with warm pads and rhythmic layers.
She has played fourteen European countries and toured South and Central America; she has played Boiler Room and shared decks with Steffi, Marcel Dettmann, Delano Smith, Juan Atkins, Move D and Lawrence. Her live acts have been presented at MUTEK Argentina, the Centro Cultural Recoleta, the Teatro San Martín and the Punto y Raya Festival.
Today she explores new formats with her audiovisual project, runs the label Classic Airlines — a platform for artists with a hybrid, experimental vision — and leads her creative studio Magnolia as creative director. The common thread? Music and art as the axis of expansion.
