CARLOS DÍAZ is a historic figure in electronic music: a Uruguayan with an uninterrupted international career since the mid-80s, who lived that decade in the booths of Buenos Aires and Punta del Este. His style is defined by a strong Balearic feel that fuses tech-house, electro and remixes of eighties classics.
In Buenos Aires since 1984: Discobar, New Faces, New Exit and Platino; resident at Pacha Argentina in '93 and at El Divino. A pioneer of the Punta del Este booths since 1984.
In Ibiza since 1986: Nightlife (86–95) and Aqualandia; his Zenith party series travelled the island — Es Codolar Beach, the Zenith area at Pacha (96–00) — with the official CD «Zenith Ibiza 1997» mixed with DJ Reche and released by EMI — the Amnesia terrace (01–02), La Diosa, the 10th anniversary at Pacha and Space (06). Then came KM5 (95–98), Blue Marlin (07–09), Houseworld at Pacha Global Room and Pacha Hotel (10–11), Destino (2014) and The Tribe 30th Anniversary (2016).
He has played massive events and exclusive parties — including venues such as Ministry of Sound — and was a resident at La Plage with guest dates at Ushuaïa (2011). Back in Buenos Aires he is a resident at After Hour Power (Bed Baires), Powerfest, Karnival, Discotek and Punk Cabaret, as well as After Hour Power in Punta del Este (Ocean Club 2018, Moonlight Club 2020).
Producer of bootlegs and live remixes: eighties classics run through a contemporary sound — from «Brick House» to Ministry covers — which he works into sets such as Power Tekno, House Devotion and Teknotika, and into his show Nativa on Playasol Ibiza Radio.
