MISS AKANE
AKANE — also known as Miss Akane — is one of the most iconic DJs in Argentine electronic music. She took her first steps as a DJ and producer in 1999, influenced by Depeche Mode, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees and industrial music, and by artists such as Miss Kittin and Laurent Garnier.
In 2001 she first stepped onto the international scene in New York, with warehouse parties and the legendary Drinkland in the East Village alongside a rising Dinky. She then moved to Montreal, where she played the S.A.T — home of the MUTEK festival — sharing decks with Mike Shannon, Misstress Barbara and The Mole.
Later based in Barcelona, she played Cube Club, Macarena and City Hall; she did several seasons in Ibiza (Blue Marlin, Hotel Pacha, Supperclub, La Plage at Elephant, Veto Club) and lived in Berlin, with dates in Poland.
Across Latin America she toured Panama, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Uruguay, Colombia and Chile; in Argentina she played the country's leading clubs — Under Club, Crobar, Pacha, Niceto Club, Club 69, Bahrein — the international festival SAMC (South American Music Conference 2008), Código País and most of the provinces.
Producer and vocalist: she uses her own vocals on most of her tracks, has remixed María Eva Albistur and Berlin's Mezolozyde, and her «The Call Remixed» brings together versions by T. Raumschmiere, Psideralica, Franco Bianco, Leo Portela and Matías Furchi.
